Three pieces directly influenced by the farmland I grew up on. Tile lines criss-cross midwestern crop land to create a sub terrainan network with the purpose of moving water out of the soil. There is more going on hidden underneath the 'simple farmland'. I became interested in the amount of what was going on underground - and for how long. Ceramic tile, concrete tile, and during my lifetime, plastic tile. After spending three years in California, the idea of moving water out of the soil more quickly seemed foreign.
